Servicing Engineer

 Job Purpose: 

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Service Engineer to carry out planned preventative and reactive servicing and maintenance of multiple brands of domestic heat pumps and mechanical systems in residential housing and apartments. The role ensures that all systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations during project delivery and after handover.

 Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on-site for installed mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues, carry out minor repairs, and escalate complex faults to the appropriate technical teams.
  • Assist in system commissioning, ensuring mechanical systems meet performance specifications prior to handover.
  • Conduct post-installation inspections and testing to verify quality and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of service activities, fault diagnostics, parts used, and corrective actions taken.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with site health and safety procedures, including adherence to method statements and risk assessments.
  • Provide technical assistance to construction and commissioning teams as required.
  • Utilise company construction cloud software to complete service checklists, generate annual service certificates, and prepare invoices for end users.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanour when interacting with homeowners and tenants.
  • Participate in relevant training programs (e.g., heat pump systems, NZEB ventilation, lone worker safety, electrical safety) to support ongoing professional development and compliance.
  • Any other duties as requested or required by the Senior Management Team
Person Specification: 
  • Qualified plumber or electrician with demonstrable experience working on heat pump systems.
  • Proven track record in servicing mechanical systems within construction or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) environments.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems commonly used in construction projects, such as HVAC, pumps, chillers, and pipework installations.
  • Experience with refrigeration and F-Gas systems is advantageous but not essential.
  • Possession of a valid Safe Pass or equivalent safety certification.
  • Full, valid driver’s licence
