Plumbing Site Operative

 Job Purpose: 

Due to continued growth MGME are recruiting for Plumbing operatives to join the growing team. As a site operative you will work across various MGME sites located in the greater Dublin area and beyond.

 Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • To install, maintain and repair pipes and fixtures associated with heating, cooling, water distribution and sanitation systems in residential and commercial structures.
  • Study and analyse blueprints and floor plans to understand the plumbing system and water supply system layout.
  • Install pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids.
  • Install supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation.
  • Assemble fittings and valves for installation.
  • Modify length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed for a building.
  • Use saws and pipe cutters as necessary.
  • Install heating and air-conditioning systems, including water heaters.
  • Collaborate with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing.
  • Test plumbing systems for leaks and other problems.
  • Analyse problem and identifies appropriate tools and materials for repair.
  • Choose plumbing materials based on budget, location, and intended uses of building.
  • Follow health and safety standards and complies with building codes.
  • Perform inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts.
  • Installing heating system.
  • Familiarise yourself with Procore and the facets within it.
  • Capture all RFI’s, Damage, theft and out of scope work through Procore
  • Assemble valves, fittings, tubes and water system appliances.
  • Install and maintain water system.
  • Adhere to any health and safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors.
  • To ensure that all company standards and policies are followed and maintained at all times.

Person Specification: 
  • NVQ Lvl 3 in Plumbing or equivalent qualification
  • Experience onsite working as a qualified plumbing operative
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of fault finding, installation and repairs
  • Proven experience of working with a Health and Safety culture
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Demonstrable experience of working with schedules and deadlines
  • Willing to complete additional training and grow within a team
  • CSR Card or equivalent
  • Full clean UK or ROI driver licence
